Accommodations in Eastern
Memorial University currently has leased accommodations available to medical learners in Carbonear, Clarenville, Marystown, Placentia and Port Blandford. Locations for leased accommodations are determined in conjunction with clinical discipline schedules, the number of learners that a site can supervise and the duration of time learners will be residing in the community.
All leased accommodations are acquired through public tendering, and units are outfitted with basic amenities, including furniture, housewares and linens. Learners are responsible for their own toiletries, cleaning supplies, food and personal belongings.
Other communities who actively host medical learners are coordinated in conjunction with the Distributed Medical Education office, Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services and clinical discipline on a case-by-case basis. In eastern, these sites include Arnold’s Cove, Bonavista, Grand Bank, Old Perlican, and Whitbourne.
