What is Casper?
Casper is an online, open-response situational judgment test (SJT) that presents challenging scenarios and asks what you would do and why. It evaluates personal and professional characteristics important for success in both medical school and as a future physician. It complements other screening tools used by the interview and admissions committees.

Casper Test Dates 2026-2027 application cycle are below: 

  • Sunday, Jul 19, 2026 - 5:30 PM NDT (4:00pm EST)
  • Tuesday, Aug 11, 2026 - 9:30 PM NDT (8:00pm EST)
  • Thursday, Aug 27, 2026 - 9:30 PM NDT (8:00pm EST)

The Casper test you need to register for is the Casper 2 (CSP-10211). 

The deadline to release scores for the 2026-2027 cycle is Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Who is required to take the Casper test?
All applicants to the Doctor of Medicine degree in the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University must complete the Casper online assessment to be eligible for admission.

How much does Casper cost?
The exam costs $50 CAD. There is also a $18 CAD distribution fee for each school you want to receive your scores.

Q: What ID do I use for Casper?
A: Your Casper ID is your 8-digit AAMC ID, generated when you register for the MCAT. It matches your birth date to connects your score to your medical school application. Copy and paste your ID to avoid errors—if your AAMC and entered birthdate do not match exactly, your score will not be matched and uploaded to your application. Ensure both your birthday and AAMC ID are entered in your registration correctly. 

Which Casper version do I register for?
Register for the CSP-10211 – Casper 2 version using your government-issued photo ID.

What equipment do I need to take Casper?
You must use a laptop or desktop computer (not a smartphone, tablet, or iPad) with:

  • Government-issued photo ID
  • Valid email address
  • Working webcam and microphone
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection

What does the 2026–2027 Casper test include?

Are Casper results valid for multiple years?
No. Results are valid for only one admissions cycle. Applicants who have taken Casper in previous years must retake it.

What is the Casper deadline for Memorial University?
You must release your Casper score to Memorial University by Thursday, September 24, 2026. Applications missing Casper scores after this date will be closed. No extra test dates will be added. The most up to date information in test dates and times is on takeCasper.com.

Can I get accommodations for Casper?
Yes. Submit the Accommodations Request Form signed by you and your qualified professional at least three weeks before your desired test date. Additional information regarding accommodations in on the Casper webpage. 

How far in advance should I register?
Register at least three days before your preferred test date (if you do not require any accommodations) to allow for identity verification and payment processing. Last-minute bookings are not recommended.
