Central

The Central Region of Newfoundland and Labrador includes a number of communities bordering along Terra Nova National Park, New World Islands and the Baie Verte Peninsula. While most of the Central region is located inland, there are opportunities to explore the Exploits River, Gander Lake, and coastal communities, including Twillingate.
 
The Central Region has a large number of faculty appointments in Newfoundland and Labrador, with a large range of specialist options. There are 69 physicians located in Central from eight clinical disciplines. Central region currently hosts the largest number of clinical rotations, with many learners gaining experience in fully equipped hospitals in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor.

In 2019/2020 there were 235 individual rotations in Central, of which, 116 were undergraduate learners and 119 were postgraduate learners.

There are opportunities for medical learners at all levels to complete rotations in Central, including pre-clerkship, clerkship and residency education.
