Thesis Submission and Examination

Guidelines for submission of a graduate thesis are available from the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. Submission of the thesis will be accompanied by the appropriate form indicating the supervisor and all members of the supervisory committee have read the thesis. The supervisor will submit to the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, on the appropriate form, a list of potential examiners. The supervisor should indicate the area of expertise and suitability for each potential examiner. There will be two examiners for a Masters thesis and three examiners for a PhD thesis (two from within the University and one from outside the University). The Office of Research and Graduate Studies will contact the potential examiners and recommend to the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies members of the examination board. The final appointment of examiners rests with the Dean of Graduate Studies.
