Amanda Tzenov

Family Medicine
Dr. Amanda Tzenov joined the Faculty of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in 2017. She provides general family practice care at the Ross Family Medicine Clinic and specializes in the care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at the Forest Road Clinic. Dr. Tzenov completed her Master of Science in Medicine in 2008, her MD in 2012, and her Family Medicine residency training in 2014, all at Memorial University.
Dr. Tzenov has played a significant role in the Family Medicine Residency Training Program, serving as the Assistant Program Director and Admissions Chair. Currently, she is the Assistant Dean for Admissions for the Faculty of Medicine. She remains deeply involved in teaching Family Medicine residents and values her role as an educator to both undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Tzenov is actively involved in volunteer activities. She serves as the CFPC NL representative on the Family Medicine Forum Committee and is a fellow of the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care (CTFPHC). When not in the clinic or at the office, she can be found at the rink with her hockey-loving kids or running the roads and trails around St. John’s, rain or shine.
Research Interests: Care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, evidence-based primary care, and interprofessional education in primary care.
