Lisa Burke

Dr. Lisa Burke joined the Discipline of Family Medicine as an Assistant Professor in September of 2023. Dr. Burke is a member of the Family Centered Maternity Care group providing intrapartum training to medical learners and care to patients on the Avalon. Her research interest lays in access to healthcare in rural Newfoundland and Labrador, Women's Health, Breastfeeding Medicine and Perinatal Mental Health.

Dr. Burke grew up on Fogo Island and moved to St. John's, NL to attend Memorial University. She completed her undergraduate degree, medical school and Family Medicine residency at Memorial University. She works at the Family Medicine Clinic at the Health Sciences Centre. She has a full scope family practice with a focus on perinatal and breastfeeding support including tongue tie assessment and management.
