Memorial’s Faculty of Medicine undergraduate program is fully accredited through 2030. 

In September 2022, the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) voted to continue accreditation for Memorial University's MD program to the maximum term of eight years. 

In August 2025, the first cohort of 20 learners began our M.D. program in PEI as part of the new Regional Campus.  As per CACMS Rules of Procedure, with the creation of a new campus and the documentation provided to them for such an initiative, CACMS has asked for a Limited Site Visit to determine if changes in our program’s accreditation status or term may be warranted.  The Limited Site Visit for our new Prince Edward Island (PEI) Regional Campus is now planned for October 20-21, 2027.
