IPECP Award

The Centre for Collaborative Health Professional Education (CCHPE) develops, implements and evaluates interprofessional education (IPE) activities at Memorial.  Two of CCHPE’s goals are to provide faculty development related to interprofessional education and collaborative practice; and to develop leaders in interprofessional education and collaborative practice.

Rationale:

The Interprofessional Education & Collaborative Practice (IPECP) Award is meant to recognize a career-spanning level of dedication and achievement in interprofessional education and collaborative practice, in partnership with CCHPE or otherwise in academic and/or practice communities.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant’s professional record should show a long-term and consistent record of engagement with interprofessionalism and demonstrate achievements in either interprofessional education or interprofessional collaborative practice, or both.
  • Any member of the health and social care practice community in the province may apply - applicants need no formal affiliation with Memorial University.
  • Formal involvement with interprofessional education offered through CCHPE will be considered an asset in the application process.

Conditions:

  • CCHPE’s Governing Council will vote to bestow the award at a regular meeting in November each year.
  • In the spirit of interprofessionalism, CCHPE’s Governing Council will endeavor to bestow the award to a member of a professional health/social care field other than that of the previous year’s award recipient.
  • One award will be approved each year. If no suitable applications are received by the annual deadline, the IPECP Award will be deferred for that year.
  • CCHPE and Governing Council will promote the opportunity via faculty listserve emails, on websites and via social media as appropriate, starting in June each year. The deadline to apply will be September 30th.
  • CCHPE will list all award winners on their website and will arrange to announce the award recipient on its platforms and those of participating faculties and schools at Memorial (with the consent of the recipient).
  • The recipient may be invited to speak to a cohort of learners, faculty, and staff on a topic chosen in consultation between the recipient and CCHPE’s Governing Council.

Application Process

  • Applications will be accepted up until September 30th of each academic year. If September 30th falls on a weekend day, applications will be accepted up until the end of day on the following Monday.
  • To be considered for the IPECP Award, the applicant must submit

Here’s the revised version with your requested addition:

  1. A nomination form completed by the applicant's nominator. Any member of the community, including those on the Governing Council, may nominate candidates for the award.
  2. Two letters of support from community members. These letters are to be submitted by individuals who are not members of the Governing Council.
  3. A consent form completed by the applicant, which includes agreement to be considered as a candidate for the award, for their name to be shared if selected, and for their willingness to speak about their IPE experience in a public setting.
  4. A current copy of the applicant's CV.
