Dean's Excellence Awards
To promote and acknowledge members of the Faculty of Medicine for excellence in research, teaching and service, the faculty has launched the 2023 Dean's Excellence Awards. Nomination packages should be submitted via email to the Chair of the Medicine Awards Committee no later than December 7, 2023.
Awards are offered to junior and senior-career faculty – both clinical and non-clinical as it relates to research and teaching – who have demonstrated recent exceptional contributions.
Awards are offered to non-academic staff in recognition of work and contributions that exceed the expectation of their positions.
Senior Faculty Research Awards
Two awards for outstanding research are available to faculty members holding regular term or tenure/tenure-track appointments who are currently beyond seven years in their first faculty appointment. One award is available per category: clinical or non-clinical research.

Two awards for outstanding research are available to faculty members holding regular term or tenure/tenure-track appointments who are currently between one to seven years in their first faculty appointment. One award is available per category: clinical or non-clinical research.

Senior Faculty Teaching Awards
An award for outstanding teaching and/or educational scholarship may be given to clinical or non-clinical senior faculty members holding part-time, regular term, or tenure/tenure-track appointments who are currently beyond seven years in their first faculty appointment.

Max House Teaching Awards
The Max House Teaching Award for Excellence in Continuing Medical Education/Continuing Professional Development (CME/CPD) is for outstanding contribution of an individual to advancing CME/CPD planning, teaching and/or scholarly research for physicians and health professionals in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.

Community Member Health Champion Award
This award recognizes the work and contributions of individuals or groups based outside Memorial University in advocating and acting for health promotion.
