Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required for all residents. Applications take six to eight weeks to process; therefore, it is strongly recommended you take care of this matter as soon as possible.

Note, residents, not Newfoundland Labrador Health Services (NLHS), pay the membership fee - either in full at the beginning of the year or in monthly installments; however, please note that NLHS reimburses the cost once a year, during the month of January.
