Dr. Andrew Hunt is a rural Family and Emergency Medicine physician practicing in Newfoundland and Labrador. A graduate of Memorial’s MD and Family Medicine Residency Programs, Dr. Hunt prides himself in helping to fulfill the mandate of social accountability in his province. He returned to his hometown of Twillingate in 2011 where he began his medical and academic careers and continues to practice and teach today. For more than a decade, Dr. Hunt has supported rural medicine through contributions as a physician leader. He has held many leadership positions such as Rural Chief of Staff, Department Chief of Family Medicine, and Vice President of Medical Services within his health authority zone. Dr. Hunt is currently the Newfoundland and Labrador representative for the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada Council and the Assistant Dean of Distributed Medical Education with Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine. He also holds an Assistant Professor appointment with Memorial's Discipline of Family Medicine. Through these roles, Dr. Hunt continues to advocate for rural medicine and medical education. Dr. Hunt is a proud father of three, a loving husband, and is devoted to enhancing the health and well-being of all of those around him. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys any new adventure that life brings his way.
