Specialty/Subspecialty

Neurology/Multiple Sclerosis

Biography

I have done most of my post-secondary education at Memorial University. I originally completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Biochemistry before being accepted to Memorial Medical School. I had a very early interest in Neurology and pursued it with electives and shadowing my future mentors. I was accepted into the Adult Neurology Program at Memorial, during which time I became quite passionate about Multiple Sclerosis. This led me to St. Michael's Hospital/ University of Toronto, where I completed a two year clinical fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Jiwon Oh.

I find MS care to be equally challenging and rewarding. You have an opportunity to intervene at a young age and make a long-term difference. This coupled with the exciting research coming in the area, creates a (humbling!) fascinating area in Neurology.

Medical interest

Multiple Sclerosis; Stroke

Research

I am interested in the bridge between basic sciences and clinical research; therapeutics and sequencing.

Hobbies outside of medicine

I am an avid runner, and try to race at least two marathons per year. I also enjoy reading, and hiking with my wife and dog.
