All applicants to the Doctor of Medicine Degree must be Canadian citizens or have Permanent Resident status in Canada at the time of application.  International applicants are not accepted due to the regulations of the Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS), which matches all graduating Canadian medical students to a residency program in Canada. 

Permanent residency or Canadian citizenship is also required for any medical students completing studies internationally who are requesting a transfer.  Transfers into the Doctor of Medicine program at Memorial University are uncommon and handled by the Undergraduate Medicine Office.
