Sexual Health Initiative

The Sexual Health Initiative is a service-learning partnership between the Faculty of Medicine and Planned Parenthood. This initiative aims to promote positive sexual health through proactive, inclusive education.

Currently, MUN medical learners, in collaboration with Planned Parenthood, visit junior high schools upon request, to offer a sexual health session for students.

The session focuses on topics such as:

  • Healthy relationships
  • Gender identity
  • Sexual orientation
  • Consent
  • Protection

This presentation has been developed by the Sexual Health Initiative Service Learning Committee at Memorial University’s Faculty of Medicine in consultation with Planned Parenthood, Global Health, Learner Well-Being and Success, Eastern Health and the Department of Education.
