Memorial University’s Academic Bridging Program
Fall 2024
Memorial University applicants (current or previous high school graduates) who pass all 5 required subjects for admission, but miss Memorial’s admission average by five per cent or less (65 – 69.9%), are eligible to apply to the Academic Bridging Program. This program is available to students attending any of Memorial’s campuses. Upon successful completion of the Academic Bridging Program, students will have their admission at Memorial University verified. If you have any questions pertaining to your final admissions average, contact the Office of the Registrar at 709-637-6298.

2. Register for UNIV 1010 in Fall 2024
Registration in the Fall semester will be limited to a maximum of 12 credit hours (4 courses) that must include UNIV 1010 (a credit course that provides students with tools and techniques of study and research that can lead to academic success). You will meet with an academic advisor to discuss your course selection. Special consideration for course selection will be given for students accepted in a cohort-based degree program. UNIV 1010 will be offered in-person at Grenfell Campus and will also be offered remotely for students attending another Memorial University campus.
3. Meet with your Academic Advisor
Academic Bridging students must attend mandatory academic advising sessions in August, September (prior to the last day to drop courses with 100% refund), and October. Students will also be invited to attend learning strategy sessions throughout the semester.
Verified Admission to Memorial University
Students accepted to the Academic Bridging Program will have their admission verified at the end of the Fall semester. Students who completed PREP week, registered for UNIV 1010, met with an Academic Advisor at the three designated timeframes, and obtained a minimum semester average of 50% will have their admission verified and they can continue at Memorial University.
