This workshop is open to writers of all experience levels and in any genre. Part workshop, part discussion group, and part writing practice, the course will explore key elements of style, including narrative development, character and dialogue, descriptive writing, and setting. Participants will have the opportunity to share their work and receive constructive feedback from both the instructor and their peers. This practical, hands-on course is ideal for anyone interested in exploring creative writing or further developing their writing and editing skills.

About Shelly Kawaja

Shelly Kawaja is a fiction writer and teacher. Her debut novel, The Raw Light of Morning, won the BMO Winterset Award and was a finalist for the NL Fiction Award. Her short fiction has appeared in Riddle Fence, Horseshoe, The Humber Literary Review, The Dalhousie Review, and PACE. Shelly is an alumnus of the University of British Columbia, Humber School for Writers and Memorial University of Newfoundland. She is currently work on her second novel.
