Tom Halford

Dr. Halford has recently published two distinct volumes. The first is a scholarly monograph published with the University of Toronto Press in 2025 entitled Nightmares of the National Imaginary: Surveillance and Sousveillance in Canadian Literature, a critical analysis of the practice of looking from above as well as looking from below in literature. The second, Over the Lights and Over the Houses (Porcupine’s Quill, 2026), is a festive and subversive Christmas novel that has earned early praise for its “humour and darkness.”

Tony Fabijančić

Dr. Fabijančić recent publications are wide ranging. His novella Old Bridge, Black House (Athabasca University Press, 2026), an experimental literary work, is “one woman's story, told across two lives.... a formally daring diptych that weaves together history, the workings of the psyche, and the hard immediacy of lived experience. Shifting between past and present, this powerful and emotional story explores how trauma is inherited and how its troubled memory lives on.” It has received an early endorsement by Christian Bök who writes, “Old Bridge, Black House rebuilds a collapsed causeway that spans across the burnt ruins between generations of mothers throughout the wartorn history of Bosnia and Croatia, rearranging these fragmented narratives into a monument (a stećak), worthy of any mason.” Dr. Fabijančić has also recently published an interdisciplinary critical text on anamorphic distortion in media spanning several centuries, Anamorphic Distortion in Literature, Visual Art and Film (Routledge, 2026), in addition to reviews of Sky Gilbert’s Shakespeare Lied (in University of Toronto Quarterly’s Letters in Canada Series 2024) and Bradley W. Buchanan’s Indict the Author of Affection: Affection and Catachresis in Hamlet ((in University of Toronto Quarterly’s Letters in Canada Series 2023).
