Research interests
My core areas of research curiosity are:
- Rural Small Business & Social Responsibility: Exploring the unique nature, costs, and benefits of community business engagement.
- Case Method & Applied Research: Partnering directly with local businesses and academic colleagues to analyze pressing operational and strategic challenges, publishing peer-reviewed instructional cases (e.g., Ivey Publishing).
- Pedagogical Innovation: Investigating curriculum design, universal design for learning, and the optimization of digital/online learning environments.
Teaching
I am deeply committed to creating dynamic, challenging, and inclusive learning environments with my students—both in-person and online—across undergraduate and graduate studies. My teaching bridges theory and practice, encouraging students to actively apply classroom insights to real-world strategic and professional challenges in ways that strengthen their own communities of practice.

Honours, graduate and post-graduate supervision
Though I am not accepting students at this time, I have supervised graduate student in both the Master of Arts in Environmental Policy (MAEP) and Master of Applied Literary Arts (MALA) programs who are investigating research questions that cross into my field of interest in strategy, small business community engagement, and business social responsibility.
