Enhancing campus food services

The Grenfell Campus Student Union (GCSU) is working to enhance access to healthy, affordable and high-quality food option to students living both on and off campus.

Tenders are now being accepted for a newly-renovated restaurant space at Grenfell Campus. The location serves approximately 1,500 students and employees and functions as a central hub of campus activity. In addition to daily food service, the space shares proximity with the campus bar, attracts regular community visitors, supports catering for events and conferences, and provides food services for summer groups and on-campus guests.

“Student wellness- including accessible, high-quality, food- is an important part of the work of the Grenfell Campus Student Union,” said Tyson Jesso, GCSU president. “We are excited about this opportunity to offer students, staff and guests a dining option that meets everyone’s needs, and enhances student experience and satisfaction.”

More than 600 students live on campus, the majority of whom purchase optional dining plan credit. Combined with catering, conference services and seasonal accommodations, the space offers strong potential for growth and multiple revenue sources, Mr. Jesso added.
