The teachers in Newfoundland and Labrador are invited to connect their Grade 7-12 students with MUN physics professors for three virtual talks via Google Meet on April 8th, 2024:

• Dr. Hilding Neilson (10am NDT): Solar Eclipses to Black Holes: how astronomers use solar eclipses to measure the bending of space-time
• Dr. Svetlana Barkanova (1pm NDT): Ten Reasons to Get Excited for the Total Solar Eclipse!
• Dr. Aleksandrs Aleksejevs (2pm NDT): Solar eclipses from past to present: the origin of the Moon and the future of solar eclipses

Speakers will open with a 5-minute intro, a 30-minute talk, and a 10-minute question period. Students will have the opportunity to submit their questions in advance or ask them live.
