Grenfell recognized the individuals who bring tremendous value to the Grenfell Campus community through the annual Student Achievement Awards.

Congratulations to the all the winners:

For her tremendous contribution to student life Hayley Head was awarded the Arthur Sullivan Cup. Hayley, a strong BA student with a double major in English and History, was recognized for her tireless efforts to improve life on campus. Her roles include student council, Women’s Caucus, Historical Studies society, residence assistant and community groups.

Precious Oladiipo was recognized with the Lanier Phillips Award for a commitment to community and creating meaningful spaces for students. She is involved in Culture to Community where she speaks to school-aged children about EDI-AR, GCSU and the Black Student Caucus.


The Student Governance Award: Undergraduate was presented to Renee Snook in recognition of tremendous work with the GCSU VP including Chair of the GCSU Policy Committee, and the GCSU Financial Management Committee, University Senate, Queer campus and community groups, and in student housing.

The Graduate Student Award winner was Mikala Hope Franklin for her outstanding contribution to the support and advancement of the graduate students’ community, coordinating grad student orientation, advocating for students, assisting in arrival and integration, and co-ordinating grad student, and as the Graduate Office Liaison.

Chosen by students, the Lois Sherlow Teaching and Learning Awards are presented to outstanding instructors who create positive learning environments that lead to successful academic experiences. Congratulations to Dr. Matthew Janes, French professor, and Judith Strickland, from the Western Regional School of Nursing.
