Teaching Interests

I teach courses in introductory, developmental, social, and forensic psychology as well as research methods and design. I also regularly supervise two to three honours students each year.

Research Interests

I am interested in the intersection between psychology and law. More specifically, I am interested in children’s understanding of the correctional system, their abilities to serve as witnesses when they are victimized or see a crime, adult perceptions of child witnesses, and internet related crimes against children and adults. I also assess the perceptions and abilities of older (aged 65+) witnesses and victims of crime. My most recent projects have included assessing the influence that parents have on children’s memory for crime and the reasons why older people fail to disclose maltreatment. I have a variety of ongoing research projects happening on a continual basis. Students who are interested in volunteering on various projects should contact me directly.
