Explore and experience Grenfell Campus through campus tours, displays, and engaging sessions related to academic programs, support services, student life, and admissions.
You will also have an opportunity to meet current Grenfell students.
We hope you will take advantage of the full day we have planned; however, if you can only make a portion of the day, that is okay too. If you are just attending for part of the day, we ask you to let us know your estimated arrival and departure time to help us plan appropriately by emailing gcstudy@mun.ca.
Parking will be available in the P2 lots for those driving to campus. A Campus Parking Map can be found here.
Please register by Wednesday, October 8 to be eligible for the grand prize draw for a tuition voucher.

Religious Coexistence in the Middle Ages
Dr. Edwin Bezzina (Historical Studies)

This session will provide a brief overview of some examples of religious coexistence in the Middle Ages, for example in medieval Spain. Often, the Middle Ages has been perceived as an intolerant period of religious repression and conflict (e.g., the Crusades, the oppression of religious minorities), but there were examples in medieval history whereby Jews, Christians, and Muslims coexisted to some degree. I will relate the material to my courses in medieval history and, briefly, to the research that I do on religious coexistence in a later period.

School of Fine Arts Balcony (second floor, Fine Arts building)

Visit the School of Fine Arts Balcony to take in the view of the City or look at the balcony from below to enjoy the newly installed artwork that greets people as they enter the School of Fine Arts. The balcony is now adorned with a significant piece of art by visual artist Melissa Tremblett. Tremblett is of Innu and English heritage from the community of Sheshatshiu, Labrador, and is currently based in Elmastukwek, Ktaqmkuk territory (Bay of Islands, Western Newfoundland). Tremblett graduated with a bachelor of fine arts, visual arts (2015) from the Grenfell Campus and a bachelor of science, behavioural neuroscience (2011), from Memorial University. Her work has been exhibited nationally and abroad.
On the inside of the balcony is the poem Herd by Douglas Walbourne Gough, who is an award winning poet and and mixed/adopted status member of the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nation from Elmastukwek (the Bay of Islands). Douglas has taught English courses at Grenfell. The visual design is by Erring Rennick, a graduate from the Visual Arts MFA program.
Grenfell Art Gallery, 2nd floor Fine Arts Building (across from theatre) 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Drop by the Art Gallery and learn about the space, the fourth year Visual Arts show, the involvement with CB Nuit, etc. Hear about the history of the art gallery at Memorial University and the role the Grenfell Art Gallery plays in the School of Fine Arts, the region, and in the province.
Hot Prints – Live Screen Printing Event, FA204 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join us for HOT PRINTS where you can swing by with a plain t-shirt, tote bag, jeans, apron, paper, etc. and choose one of our many fun designs to print! We will be screen printing clothing and relief printing patches that you can take home with you. We will have some materials to print on if you didn't bring your own supplies. No experience necessary.
