University Medal for Academic Excellence

The University Medal for Academic Excellence in Business is awarded in the graduating year to a candidate for the Bachelor of Business Administration (Grenfell Campus) degree who are recommended to the Dean of the School of Arts and Social Science by the program faculty.

Award for Highest Academic Achievement among Graduating Students

This honour is awarded to the graduating student who achieves the highest overall academic grades across the required courses for the Bachelor of Business Administration degree. The award is presented annually by the Grenfell Business Program.

Chartered Professional Accountants’ Education Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador Inc. Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student in any year of study in the Grenfell Campus business program who has completed a minimum of two CPA-equivalent elective courses and meets the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship as defined by Memorial University of Newfoundland. The scholarship is awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the recommendation of the Grenfell Campus Scholarship Committee.

Gerald Dawe Scholarship in Business Administration

This scholarship was established in honour of Gerald Dawe by his four daughters. Mr. Dawe was born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland in 1938 and is the retired President of Stan Dawe Ltd. For over 50 years, Mr. Dawe built and managed a successful building supplies business in western and central Newfoundland. He believes a successful business requires hard work, integrity, and respect for people, including employees, customers and the broader community. Valued at $500, this scholarship will be awarded to a student with the highest average in BUSN required courses and in year three of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Memorial University’s Grenfell Campus. Preference will be given to a student who can demonstrate leadership, personal integrity, and strong work ethic. Preference will also be given to a student who has graduated from a high school in Newfoundland and Labrador. The recipient must meet the minimum academic requirements for a scholarship. The Scholarship will be awarded by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards on the recommendation of the Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Grenfell Campus, Memorial University. An application is required.

Wareham Family Entrepreneurship Award

Wareham Family Award 2024

This award was established by a generous donation from the Wareham Family to recognize students from Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Grenfell Campus, who have a recognized interest in entrepreneurship. Valued at $5,000, this award will be granted annually to an undergraduate or graduate student who has completed a minimum of half of their degree program requirements in any degree program at the Grenfell Campus of Memorial University. The student will have demonstrated an entrepreneurial mindset and the leadership qualities associated with entrepreneurial success. The recipient must meet the minimum academic requirements for an award as defined by Memorial University. For an undergraduate student, the award will be granted by the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards. For a graduate student, the award will be granted by the Associate Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies, Grenfell Campus. In both cases the award will be granted on the recommendation of the Dean, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Grenfell Campus. An application is required.

Grenfell Business Merit Award

This award goes to an outstanding Grenfell business student entering their final year of study who demonstrates strong academic performance in business courses, and both leadership and participation in the community and/or student life. This award is made on the recommendation of the Chair of Business.
