Graduate awards, scholarships and bursaries

We’re privileged to have strong and dedicated supporters and alumni whose generous financial contributions support student success. This generosity translates to over $65,000 in scholarships, awards and bursaries each year for graduate business students to facilitate their pursuit of academic excellence.

Applications for our scholarships, awards and bursaries open in December. The deadline to apply is normally in early January.

Additional external scholarships, awards and bursaries are available through the School of Graduate Studies.

Definitions

Scholarships are based on academic performance and are awarded to the student with the highest average meeting the conditions of the scholarship. Scholarship standing (minimum 75 per cent average) is required.

Awards are offered to recognize special achievements or to assist with special projects or travel. Awards may be given to students with a minimum of clear standing as defined by the university and outlined under UNIVERSITY REGULATIONS - General Academic Regulations (Undergraduate), Continuance and Readmission, Eligibility for Continuance, and who meet the other conditions of the award.

Bursaries are based primarily on financial need and may be awarded to full-time students who have a minimum GPA of 2 (out of a possible 4) and meet the other conditions of the bursary.

Some of our scholarships, awards and bursaries are specific to a particular program(s) of study while others are available to all graduate business students. The criteria for each scholarship, award or bursary is determined and specified by the donor.

Applicants must be full-time students to be eligible for our scholarships, awards and bursaries except for the Dr. Robert Sexty Scholarship for Social Responsibility and Dr. Rob Crosbie MBA Scholarship.
