Personal Profile

Davoud Ghahremanlou obtained his multidisciplinary PhD with First Class Standing and is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Business Administration, Memorial University. He has taught at Memorial’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science and Department of Economics. He completed a postdoctoral internship, working on an applied research project entitled “Strengthening Process Efficiencies in a Changing Industry.” He obtained a master of industrial engineering from Pune University in India where he achieved First Class with distinction. He pursued the same field during his undergraduate degree in Iran, where he was first in his graduating class. He has accomplished qualitative, quantitative, theoretical and practical research projects during his career.Dr. Ghahremanlou is particularly interested in the application of optimization techniques in logistics and supply chain management, and his current research is primarily focused on sustainability in logistics and supply chains.

He is a versatile and experienced logistics and supply chain professional with strong analytical, creative and innovation capabilities and a demonstrated record of performance excellence. He has over a decade of professional experience in logistics and supply chain management and has worked in diverse manufacturing, service and knowledge sectors such as energy, forestry, technology transfer, automobile manufacturing and consumer products.

Dr. Ghahremanlou has taught several online and on-campus courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in Canada, India and Iran. He has served in other academic roles such as supervisor of research in a scientific society and chair of multiple international events. Additionally, he has continuously been enforcing close relations with government and business community leaders and utilizing their experience and resources to provide experiential learning and networking opportunities for students. He is an active member of the community and always helps to enhance its sustainability.
