The below document illustrates core courses for the pre-2022 BBA and B.Comm.(Co-op.) programs, some of which have been renumbered. Students must register for courses using the number listed in the NEW Course Number column.
Most of our course numbers have been modified to be consistent with other faculties, schools and departments across Memorial. In this numbering system, the first digit in the course number represents the suggested academic year in which a student should take the course.
NOTE: The complete list of undergraduate course number changes is here.
- Students are responsible for ensuring they are registered for the appropriate courses. The University Calendar is the final authority on university regulations.
- Step-by-step registration instructions are here.
- Course offerings for Winter 2025 are available on the website of the Office of the Registrar and in Memorial Self-Service.
- Be prepared to register at your assigned registration time. Some courses may be at capacity if students attempt to register after their assigned registration times.
- Don't register for courses if there is a timetable clash or if you have other commitments during a class time.
- Choose courses and schedules that work best for you and meet your program requirements.
- Information on how to troubleshoot common registration issues can be found here. If students attending St. John’s Campus are experiencing problems while registering, they may contact the Registrar's Office at (709) 864-4445 or email registrar@mun.ca.
- Space is reserved in all online BUSI core courses to allow BBA, Business One and B.Comm.students priority registration. The B.Comm.(Co-op.) program is designed to be intensive and in-person with a cohort that learns together at St. John’s Campus. The BBA and B.Comm. provides a more flexible program, enabling students to study from afar. B.Comm.(Co-op.) students should register for in-person core courses before exploring online options.
Winter registration begins on Nov. 4. The University Diary contains the official listing of all academic dates and deadlines for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Students should use program worksheets as a tracking and planning tool. Students should be familiar with graduation requirements, found in the University Calendar, to ensure they are met by the time of applying to graduate. Classes will be delivered in one of two ways for the 2024-2025 academic year:
- In-person
BUSI courses with section numbers such as 001, 002, 003 and 056 will meet in-person for classes at the designated class times. - Online
Online courses with section numbers 081, 082 and 083 don't require you to be available at a particular time for classes, although you may have optional real-time virtual touch points.
There are three distinct factors that indicate fully online delivery.
- Campus is listed as online.
- The time will be listed as 12-12:01 a.m.
- Under “Sec,” courses are denoted as 081, 082 or 083.
Many courses will give priority registration to students in specified programs of study, such as admission to a degree program (including diplomas and certificates) and certain majors, minors or concentrations. Reserves will be lifted on Nov. 19.

We do not admit students into courses that are full. Waitlists for the winter semester will be deactivated after Dec. 21. If you haven't secured a space in the course by that time, you should monitor the registration system closely. If any registered student drops the course after the waitlist has been deactivated and you see an available seat, you can register for it, as long as you meet course pre-requisites. You may use your discretion as to how often you feel it's necessary to check the system in an attempt to gain a seat. The last day to add courses for the winter semester is Jan. 21. More information on waitlists is available here. Instructors do not have the authority to sign students into sections, and we do not sign students into courses above course capacity.
All prerequisites are strictly enforced and must be successfully completed.
