Additional Information on Networking
As part of this program, participants will connect with industry professionals through facilitated networking sessions. Each session will feature guest speakers from various fields, who will share their insights and experiences on relevant leadership topics. The themes of these networking sessions will be determined in consultation with program participants, Student Life and the Advisory Committee.
Coaching for Leadership Development
Coaches provide a safe, challenging development space for individuals to consider and strategize for the achievement of personal goals. Participants will be provided with an orientation to what coaching is, how to work with a coach, and the intention of coaching for this leadership program. Each student will utilize three to five sessions 1-hour sessions with their coach during each semester of the program. At the end of each semester, program participants will complete an evaluation to reflect on their coaching experience and progress.
Additional Information on the Leadership Project
With the support and guidance of the program leaders, each participant will choose a leadership project. The project guidelines (to be developed) will be introduced during the Fall semester orientation and will be integrated into the ongoing learning sessions held throughout the Fall.
The goal of this leadership application project is to further enhance each participant’s leadership skills and apply those skills to a real-world scenario (e.g. a volunteer role or organization). The project will focus on applying learnings and experience from one or more of the sessions from the Fall semester to an existing leadership role the participant holds and/or how they might apply those learnings to a future role. (Note: The Leadership Application Project may not be used to receive academic credit).
