Welcome Volunteers
General Volunteer for Welcome

Welcome isn't complete without the incredible dedication of student volunteers! A successful Welcome would not be possible without the hard work of Memorial Student Leaders and General Volunteers!

This volunteer experience helps students develop essential skills such as communication and time management and gives them a sense of belonging by joining a great team.

Tasks vary by event, but generally include:

  • assisting with set up and take down,
  • maintaining a traffic flow,
  • facilitating discussion with students,
  • assisting in event tasks,
  • collecting the feedback of peer volunteers and students,
  • and more

There will be a training day provided to General Volunteers by the Welcome team in August. Applications for General Volunteers are open until July 12, 2024, at 4 p.m. Apply today at: https://mun.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_dpsdmA2UXlKEKk6

Peer Leads

Peer Lead Volunteers are our front-line volunteers. You will directly interact with new and returning students and their parents during Welcome Weeks. Peer Lead volunteers will help with the executing of key events throughout Welcome Week. You are the face of Memorial!

Event Leads

Event Lead Volunteers work behind the scenes. You will assist with event set-up, tear down, troubleshoot, and provide event support. You are organized and love implementing plans!

Skill-building: teamwork, organization, interpersonal skills, versatility

Make Midterm Matter

Since 2006, #MakeMidtermMatter has connected thousands of students to their community and each other, working with community groups on and off campus. If you are a bit shy to meet people, or not sure how to volunteer, or if you want to have a different, or put your academic knowledge into deeper practice, this is a good activity for you.
