The Ocean Sciences Centre, located in Logy Bay, just 10 minutes from the St. John's campus, is a premier cold ocean research facility. It houses laboratories dedicated to the study of the North Atlantic fishery, aquaculture, oceanography, ecology, behavior, and physiology, providing students with hands-on research opportunities in these critical fields.
The Bonne Bay Aquarium and Research Station, situated on Newfoundland's west coast, is a world-class facility offering extensive services to students, researchers, educators, and the public. It features teaching and research laboratories, a library/resource center, a multimedia theater, an aquarium, residential accommodations, and small boats for field research. The station is home to several undergraduate field courses offered by the Department of Biology each year. Nestled within Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Bonne Bay area boasts an unparalleled diversity of habitats, marine plants, fish, and invertebrates, making it an ideal location for marine ecosystem research.
The Memorial University Botanical Garden, covering ten acres of cultivated gardens and 100 acres of natural habitat, supports a wide range of educational and research activities in biology, ecology, and horticulture. Research at the garden includes rare plant conservation, site restoration, invasive species management, and the study of medicinal and ornamental plants. It serves the university community, the general public, school children, and various organized groups.
The Harlow Campus, located in Old Harlow, Essex, UK, offers unique opportunities for professional schools and academic departments to conduct programs typically lasting one semester. Situated midway between London and Cambridge, Harlow Campus is well-connected by road and rail to both cities. The campus consists of a cluster of 19th-century buildings, providing accommodations for 51 students.
