Scientific Endeavours in Academia Conference

The Faculty of Science invites all science students, staff, post-doctoral fellows and faculty to the SEA – the first annual Scientific Endeavours in Academia interdisciplinary research conference!

At the SEA, researchers of all levels will present their work and learn about the other outstanding research underway in the Faculty of Science. The SEA conference will provide opportunities for networking, developing new collaborations, honing presentation skills, student recruitment, career development and more. Prizes will also be available for best poster and oral presentations and food and drink will be available.

This in-person, two-day, multi-session event will take place April 8-9, 2022, and showcase poster and oral presentations by undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty. The event will feature Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, chief medical officer of health, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and Karl Kenny, president and CEO of Kraken Robotics, as our keynote speakers.

It will also highlight speakers from the Faculty of Science including Dr. Amy Hurford, Mathematics and Statistics/Biology; Dr. Sheila Garland, Psychology; Dr. Rob Bertolo, Biochemistry; Dr. Xianta Jiang, Computer Science and Dr. Sue Ziegler, Earth Sciences.
