What Courses Should I Take in the First Year?
The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree, whether general or honours, requires completion of 120 credit hours according to degree regulations. In the Faculty of Science, declaring a major is mandatory, while declaring a minor is optional. Choosing a major is advised after the first year, and students are encouraged to seek academic guidance from their desired department during this time. Contact information for departments can be found on each major's respective page. First-year B.Sc. students are required to complete core degree requirements, including courses in critical reading and writing (CRW), mathematics/statistics, and two sciences other than mathematics/statistics.
