Co-operative Education
Co-op education is at the forefront in experiential learning at Memorial University.
The university's highly successful programs offer a combination of classroom study and work term placements in local, national and international businesses and organizations. The goal is to fuse academic knowledge with practical experience, creating highly qualified and knowledgeable professionals prepared to meet the demands of today’s workforce.
Science students can participate in co-op education in several subject areas:
- Biology - B.Sc. and B.Sc. Hons. co-operative options in the Department of Biology
- Behavioural Neuroscience - B.Sc. and B.Sc. Hons. co-operative options in the Department of Psychology
- Psychology - B.Sc. and B.Sc. Hons. co-operative options in the Department of Psychology
- The Co-operative Internship in Computer Science (formerly Computer Industry Internship Option) in the Department of Computer Science
- The Economics Co-op Program in the Department of Economics
The Master of Applied Psychological Science (MAPS) in the Department of Psychology and the Master of Science (Computer Science) in the Department of Computer Science are co-operative graduate programs in the Faculty of Science, and co-operative graduate degrees are also available in the interdisciplinary programs of Scientific Computing (formerly Computational Science) and Environmental Science.
