Science School Programs
Welcome to the Memorial University Faculty of Science Science Programs webpage, where we are dedicated to fostering a passion for science in our community. Through a variety of engaging initiatives, we aim to inspire curiosity and exploration among learners of all ages.
Our programs are designed to provide hands-on learning experiences that go beyond the classroom. Whether it’s through our Ocean Sciences Centre School Program, where students immerse themselves in marine biology and oceanography, or our FOSTER Science Program, which sparks scientific curiosity in elementary and middle school students through interactive workshops and activities, we strive to make science accessible and exciting.
In partnership with Let’s Talk Science, we extend our reach across Newfoundland and Labrador, ensuring that youth, especially in remote and rural areas, have access to STEM education and mentorship opportunities that inspire future scientists and innovators.
During the summer months, our science camps and programs offer enriching experiences in robotics, environmental science, astronomy, and more. These programs encourage exploration and discovery while nurturing a deeper understanding of scientific principles.
Each year, we celebrate student achievement and innovation at the Cenovus Energy Eastern Newfoundland Science and Technology Fair, where young scientists showcase their projects and compete for recognition in various categories.
For those with a passion for mathematics and statistics, the Blundon Contest and Seminar provide a platform for high school students to demonstrate their skills and knowledge, culminating in the awarding of the prestigious Blundon Shield.
Whether you’re a student, educator, or community member, we invite you to explore our Science Programs and discover how Memorial University is shaping the future of science education and engagement in Newfoundland and Labrador.
