Provincial Government Announces the Creation of Education Accord NL
The Honourable Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Education, announced the creation of Education Accord NL. Education Accord NL, which will be co-chaired by Dr. Anne Burke and Dr. Karen Goodnough, to develop a targeted approach to transforming and modernizing Newfoundland and Labrador’s education system.

Local and national school districts, divisions and recruitment agencies will be gathered on the second and fifth floors of the Education Building ready to accept your resume and are also available for next day interviews for suitable candidates. The teacher recruitment fair is open to experienced and new teachers as well as students currently enrolled in Education degree programs. A list of attendees will be available at both entrances on the day of the event. Come find your dream job!

Public Viewing of The Beothuk Story (Tuesday, September 27, 2022)
A public viewing of The Beothuk Story will be held 12:30-2:00 p.m. in Room 3034A, G.A. Hickman Building on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Writer, producer, and director, Christopher Aylward will be in attendance to discuss the film, as well as to highlight his decade of research focused on the Beothuk. Attendees will be entered into a number of orange shirt draws.

Memorial's Faculty of Education and the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers’ Association are proud to present Let's Discuss - A New Dialogue Series on Educational Matters! The series will take place throughout the year and will explore a variety of topics as they relate to all things education. The second instalment of the series is entitled Why Should We Care about Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)? Creating Healthy Schools and Communities. The virtual session is taking place Wednesday, February 24, 2021 @ 7 p.m.
A panel of educators will talk about the nature and importance of SEL; how SEL competencies can be taught, modeled, and practiced, resulting in positive outcomes for children, youth, and adults; and the role that SEL plays in the creation of healthy schools and communities. Participants will have opportunities to share their perspectives and experiences and to pose questions to the panelists.
