Education Student Wins Fry Family Foundation Dean's Leadership Award in Education
Congratulations to Clarinetist Andrew George on being the inaugural recipient of the new Fry Family Foundation Dean's Leadership Award in Education for Memorial University of Newfoundland. Andrew has found a home in Atlantic Canada’s music scene since 2013. As an educator, he has worked as clarinet sectional coach, woodwind coach, orchestra librarian, and arranger for both the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra and the Saint John Youth Orchestra, and has been the resident Clarinet Teaching Artist for Sistema New Brunswick’s Saint John Centre since his arrival in the province. With his studies in music education at MUN Faculty of Education now complete, Andrew is excited to seek out new opportunities to continue to shape and support the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
