MESEM graduate students are actively engaged in eight ongoing environmental engineering projects, addressing challenges across various sectors. To enrich their learning experience, Dr. Abdel-Zaher Kamal Abdel-Razek, Ph.D., P.Eng., from MUN Civil Engineering, organized two informative talks:

Gary Murray, President & CEO of Newfoundland Power Inc., shared insights on hydroelectric power generation and its environmental aspects.

Aubrey Gover, Deputy Minister of Indigenous Affairs & Reconciliation, discussed Indigenous environmental governance and key issues facing Newfoundland & Labrador.

These sessions provided MESEM students with valuable perspectives on NL's environmental challenges and governance frameworks.
