Memorial University Welcomes AASTMT Delegate to Explore Global Partnership
Memorial University recently welcomed Dr. Ahmed Elsafty, Professor of Thermal Sciences and Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology (COET) – Al Alamain Campus at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), Egypt. His visit marks an important step in advancing international collaboration in engineering education and research.
The visit follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Memorial and AASTMT. The agreement sets the foundation for collaborative initiatives across teaching, research, and mobility programs for students and faculty.
Facilitated by Memorial’s Internationalization Office and recommended by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS), the partnership underscores the university’s commitment to fostering meaningful global connections and sharing expertise across borders.
AASTMT is internationally recognized for its strong engineering programs—especially in maritime, mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering. Known for blending academic theory with hands-on training, the institution’s use of advanced labs and simulation technologies enhances student learning and industry readiness.
