Ally Reid Takes 3rd Place at Illuminate 2024
Congratulations to Ally Reid, a Computer Engineering student, for winning 3rd Place ($1,000) and the Community Choice Award ($500) at Illuminate2024! Ally’s project, Clay by Ally, is a handmade polymer clay jewelry business featuring colorful accessories that reflect playful personalities.
With her prize, Ally plans to expand her business: “I plan to spend this money to expand my team. This winter term, I am looking to hire a marketing specialist, and these awards will greatly help me to do that," she said.
Illuminate is the Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship's initiative which showcase and supports innovative ideas led by women and gender-diverse students at Memorial University. It is an inclusive program that incorporates skills development, networking and mentorship, and culminates in a live pitch competition.
