Finding a Computer's Hostname

Windows

Step 1: Click Start menu and type "cmd". Click "Command Prompt".

Step 2: Type "hostname" and hit enter. Your hostname should begin with "segr" and end with a 3 digit number. For example "segrecsdt009" in the below screenshot.

 

MAC OS

Step 1: Click the "Apple" menu in the top righ corver and select "System Settings".

Step 2: In "System Settings" select "General" and then click "Sharing".

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom and find the section "Local hostname" . Your hostname should begin with "segr" and end with a 3 digit number. For example "segrecsdt222" in the below screenshot.

Linux

Step 1: Open a "terminal" window and type "hostname" and hit enter. Your hostname should begin with "segr" and end with a 3 digit number. For example "segrecsdt009" in the below screenshot.
