Research Initiatives & Services (RIS) extends a heartfelt congratulations to David Miller on his upcoming retirement from Memorial University on Friday, September 26^th. Dave is a valued member of the Memorial community, having studied and worked at the university for the past 38 years. With a background in chemistry, NMR, and X-ray crystallography, Dave has co-authored 70 peer reviewed publications with over 2500 citations across multiple fields, and as Director of RIS he provided strategic direction and oversight for multiple major research partnerships, founded and oversaw the pan-university Core Research Equipment and Instrument Training (CREAIT) Network, and was a founding member of the Canadian Institute for Public Safety Research and Treatment (CIPSRT). With RIS, Dave has served the entire university’s research funding portfolio, and has been a frequent and valuable contributor to countless pan-university committees. Dave’s kindness, commitment to teamwork, sense of humour, and fierce dedication to Memorial University will be missed dearly by his colleagues and friends in our daily operations, though we wish him a very restful and fulfilling retirement.
