The Conversation Canada science-writing workshops
Thanks to a science communications grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), The Conversation Canada is hosting a series of science-writing workshops for faculty, postdoctoral scholars and graduate students at Memorial University.
Participants will learn about The Conversation Canada, develop story ideas about their research and get feedback from peers and editors on their story pitch.
The virtual training will consist of two half-days of interactive presentations, case studies and hands-on practice, with lots of discussion and built-in breaks.
Participants should come with a story idea (or two) in mind to work on.
The workshops target those pursuing science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) areas of research.
Dates and times:
- Wednesday, June 2 from 9:30 a.m.-noon and
- Thursday, June 3 from 2-430 p.m.
Please note: space is limited.
Registration will be capped at 20 participants for the two workshops. Participants should be available to attend both sessions.
Those interested must email vprfeedback@mun.ca. First come first served. Please include your full name, unit and email address.
Log-in instructions will be communicated with those selected to attend the workshops.
Memorial thanks The Conversation Canada and NSERC for their support of this valuable training opportunity.
