Save the date: Women+ in academia event on Oct. 16
A first-of-its-kind event centered on the experiences of women, non-binary and gender-diverse faculty members and postdoctoral fellows is taking place at Memorial.
Women+ in academia: Building community and shaping change is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The event will be held both in person, in the Core Science Facility (CSF), room 1302 on the St. John’s campus, as well as virtually.

This event focuses on the challenges that women+ face at different career stages, learning about available supports, building networks and mentorship connections, and identifying actionable recommendations to advance their success at Memorial.
The session is brought you in part by the Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation) in collaboration with a strong network of women+ colleagues from across Memorial’s many campuses and academic units.
Registration is free but in-person participation is limited. Please register by Monday, Oct. 5.
This event is supported partly by the Government of Canada’s Research Support Fund, an important source of funding support that helps post-secondary institutions with costs associated with managing their research enterprises, and Memorial's Faculty of Science.
