Canada recently announced its plans to start formal negotiations under Horizon Europe, the world’s largest science, research and innovation collaboration program.

The program is the European Commission’s latest research and innovation framework program, running from 2021 to 2027 with a focus on evidence-based solutions to global challenges with a budget of €95.5 billion. Horizon Europe is open to researchers and innovators from around the globe who are encouraged to team up with EU consortia in preparing proposals.

The discussion will include information on:

  • Understanding the structure of the program;
  • Focus on international co-operation: openness and funding;
  • Impact of potential association of Canada to Horizon Europe;
  • Searching for opportunities and finding a call for proposals; and
  • Finding key information and additional local support.
