The Office of the Vice-President (Research and Innovation) recently completed its search and selection of Memorial’s representatives for:

Each role is a key link between Memorial and the respective funding agencies. They play a vital part in representing Memorial within the national research ecosystem; engaging and consulting with the research community; sharing relevant information; and helping shape policies, plans and activities of the agencies.

Following a call for expressions of interest, and a review process involving faculty members, all of whom have strong research records, the following individuals were chosen:

  • NSERC Leader – Dr. Kris Poduska, associate scientific director, Transforming Climate Action in conjunction with Ocean Frontier Institute @ Memorial and professor, Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography, Faculty of Science;
  • SSHRC Leader – Dr. Meghan Burchell, associate dean research and associate professor, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; and
  • CIHR University Delegate – Dr. Lindsay Cahill, associate professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science.
