Research in the wild: Career paths and experiences outside of academia

Join us for a panel discussion with MI alumni and learn about their research (past and present), how they navigated a course from student to professional, and the advantages and pitfalls of research life beyond the shores of academia.

The session will feature Marine Institute alumni:

  • Elizabeth Coughlan, aquatic resources biologist, DFO;
  • Laura Dwyer, R&D manager, Grieg Seafood; and
  • Andrea Perreault, stock assessment biologist, DFO.

There will be a panel discussion from 1-1:30 p.m. and a Q&A session from 1:30-1:45 p.m.

There will be free parking in lot M1.

Register and join virtually here via Microsoft Teams. We'll be monitoring your questions posted in the chat during the event.
