Memorial University is committed to excellence in scholarly activities and as such is committed to ensuring that the highest standards of ethical conduct and scholarly integrity are understood and practiced by all members of the research community.
Scholarly activities vary among the disciplines at Memorial. Research involving human subjects is guided by the policy Ethics of Research Involving Human Participants. All research projects involving human participants undertaken by faculty, staff or students must reviewed by the appropriate ethics review board.
The use of animals in teaching or research activities is guided by the Institutional Animal Care policy. All activities must be reviewed by the Institutional Animal Care Committee to ensure the humane use and care of animals.
