Master of Education Programs
The Faculty of Education offers graduate degree programs that prepare students for work and further study in a wide range of settings. Please note that completion of a graduate degree program does not provide the required credentials to teach in the K-12 school system in Newfoundland and Labrador. Every teacher employed in the k-12 school system in Newfoundland and Labrador are required by law to hold a valid teaching certificate as is outlined on the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Teacher Certification website. Therefore, students without a completed Bachelor of Education recognized by Teacher Certification are not eligible for a graduate internship in a school in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Master of Education (Educational Leadership Studies) | Provides students with an opportunity to explore a broad range of issues in educational leadership, policy and administration. It prepares candidates to assume leadership roles in a variety of settings, including school and district leadership, post-secondary institutions and policy analysis. | Online / In-Person |
The Master of Education (Educational Technology) | Offered in partnership with Cape Breton University (CBU). It is designed to facilitate the educational use of information technology in a wide variety of settings. | Fully Online |
The Master of Education (Post-Secondary Education) | Designed to prepare candidates to function in a variety of roles in informal and formal post-secondary learning environments (including academic, technical, professional, adult education, health professional education, and student services/development). | Fully Online |
The Master of Education (Reading Development and Instruction) | Intended for students who want to further develop their professional learning and deepen their understanding of reading development to better support classroom-wide instruction, including the instruction of children who experience reading difficulty. | Fully Online |
The Master of Arts and Education (Education and Francophone Literature and Cultures) | Designed for teachers of French and French immersion who wish to learn more about Francophone literature and culture to enhance their practice and improve their French language skills.
