In January 2012, Memorial University’s travel health plan provider, AXA Assurances Inc, was acquired by the SSQ Financial Group. Coverage under the travel health policy and the Atlantic Canadian service team remain unchanged by this acquisition. In addition, the out of province assistance provider, AXA Assistance, has not changed. Plan members are advised that their AXA Assistance membership cards are still valid and they may continue to use the travel health brochure for a description of their coverage. References in the brochure to AXA Assurances Inc, however, should instead be taken to mean SSQ Life Insurance Company Inc.
