INTERNATIONAL MARKETING AND STUDENT RECRUITMENT COORDINATOR (BAND LEVEL 7)

Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science
 (Contractual Position to March 31, 2026)

DUTIES

Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out the Faculties’ recruitment activities primarily aimed at attracting international Undergraduate and Graduate students to Memorial University of Newfoundland. Duties include developing/executing marketing strategies and campaigns to raise the profile of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science; developing/executing a digital recruitment marketing strategy, creating digital content, and overseeing the quality, consistency and relevance of the Faculties’ recruitment social media channels; establishing, coordinating, and monitoring a promotions calendar; leading and/or assisting in the planning and marketing of student recruitment activities; preparing/presenting information sessions about the University to audiences, at events such as international high schools, career days, education fairs, and post-secondary institutions; recruiting potential international students; conducting research on international target countries and audiences; identifying potential agents and working closely with those agents contracted by Memorial; compiling market research; assisting in the development of promotional materials; identifying strategies for international recruitment initiatives and assisting in their implementation; providing information to international students and influencers; assisting in the vetting of educational agencies; answering enquiries on recruitment; evaluating and continuously improving the effectiveness of the Faculties’ marketing and recruitment activities, using data and statistics to analyse any gaps between objectives and results; and performing other related duties as required.

 

Flexibility with regard to work hours, including occasional evening and weekend work, and travel is required.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience (3-5 years) in marketing and student recruitment with an emphasis on international marketing or communications; completion of an Undergraduate degree with a major in business, international studies, or other related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience in cross-cultural training and issues; knowledge of the Faculties’ programs; proficiency in one or more foreign language; excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and expert knowledge of, and experience in, digital marketing and social media, along with analytic tools such as Google analytics, is required. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and planning skills, as well as demonstrated creativity and excellent communication abilities. Knowledge of Memorial’s practices and procedures would be considered an asset.
 

SALARY                                   $54,770 - $82,150 per annum (Management and Professional)
